There are lots of different kinds of designs for different audiences. The different kinds of designs are grouped together according to what they design and to how their designs serve their audiences.

 

We have to know the three different design fields, which kinds of presentation formats suit each field and what are the conventions used in the creation of observation, visualisation and presentation drawings for each.

 

Students designs and visual analyses are made within one or more of these given fields of design.

Environmental design

 

Designers in this field design buildings and what is know as the 'built environment'. They design and present visual information for design of the built and/ or constructed world.

This field is also known as product design. Designers in this field create designs and visual information for manufactured objects and/ or products.
